Veterans Day is observed each year on November 11 and is dedicated to honoring America's Veterans. The date traces its history to the armistice that ended the fighting of World War I on November 11, 1918. In 1954, the holiday became Veterans Day, expanding the observance to honor American Veterans of all wars.
